Third Cybersecurity Skills Festival takes place this month

People and skills that protect commerce, industry and public services from cyberattacks will feature at the 3rd Cybersecurity Skills Festival, which is being organised by SASIG, the Security Awareness Special Interest Group, in partnership with the UK Cyber Security Council, on Tuesday 22 February 2022.

The Cybersecurity Skills Festival is a bi-annual virtual event where students, career movers and cybersecurity professionals gather to discuss careers in cyber. Alongside the conference, the festival will also feature a Jobs Fair with the opportunity to speak directly with employers exhibiting the exciting opportunities available for delegates.

The 3rd Cybersecurity Skills Festival is hosting more than 40 organisations from all sectors, all hungry to find new talent. In addition, over 50 UK universities and public bodies from across the cybersecurity community will be attending.

The festival’s agenda will include a keynote presentation from the UK Cyber Security Council and will highlight the need for a new wave of diverse cybersecurity professionals. Together with a series of workshops, delegates can explore the huge array of roles available in the cyber world.

Martin Smith MBE, the founder and chairman of SASIG, said: “The cybersecurity sector is growing at 10% per annum, and the Cybersecurity Skills Festival is a positive step to attract the best talent into our sector. We must ensure that the nation has a strong and skilled workforce to protect business, commerce and public services. Last year’s virtual festivals were a huge success, and the 3rd festival has already secured the involvement of major players in the cybersecurity arena.”

Simon Hepburn, CEO of the UK Cyber Security Council, said: “We are delighted to partner with SASIG to deliver their third Cybersecurity Skills Festival. Careers and skills in cybersecurity are high on our agenda at the council and getting more people to consider entering the cyber security industry is crucial to help close the cyber skills gap that currently exists. With skills, training and education in cyber security very high on the agenda for the UK Cyber Security Council, partnering with SASIG to deliver this event aligns with the core values of the UK Cyber Security Council perfectly.”

Attendance at the 3rd Cybersecurity Skills Festival is free for both attendees and employers. To find out more, please visit: www.thesasig.com/skills-festival
